I use flies, which are artificial lures. You can see them throughout the video. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip. Always happy to learn and conserve our fish populations. Interesting to see them using a boga grip which I believe can damage the fish's mouth. I guess a net in the water, with barbless hooks, is the best option.

Great little devices for racing as the built in GPS supports speed, breadcrumb trails, etc, which can be added as overlays to the video.

Warren Prior oh for location I just put Mexico since well, God forbid I ever get into serious trouble with law enforcement (u know, more than just a Speeding ticket, I’m talking full on investigation) they can’t use my videos as evidence against me since it was filmed in Mexico, but not really, you know? Plus I have a program on my PC that will immediately erase everything and wipe it clean from one simple command I can input from anywhere I’m at (assuming I have my phone lol) but yea the camera works great however I just wish I could record sound since well I like hearing the roar of the V8’s as we race, you know?

Etienne Bbeukes Fished predominantly terrestrials. Most fish were caught on the Good Docs Beetles. Also took some on hoppers and ants. Caught a few on nymphs when the fish weren’t taking off the surface.

Hi. If I remember correctly I made this particular video using a free piece of software called VideoPad (I believe they now charge). It was fractionally more powerful than Window's Movie Maker, and gave me access to some great features such as video stabilisation. I then moved onto Adobe Premiere Pro, which is massively powerful, but costly. Currently I use DaVinci Resolve 15, which has a free version. It is massively powerful, but has a large learning curve.

Blah blah blah :) Hahaha. Colours are definitely much warmer and more inviting on the Elite. I guess that could be partially fixed in post processing though. The 4k on the Ultra does make the footage a lot more crisp. And the slow motion on the Ultra is definitely smoother thanks to the 120 frames at 1080p, as opposed to the 30 frames of the Elite (so no slow motion really).

Good point on the battery life. It's substantially longer on the Elite than on the Ultra, especially if you're shooting 4k on the Ultra.

They are still available in some countries. Although the Elite Ultra 30 is what has replaced it.

Yeah I know, but I don't like the waterproof case you need (again) with the ULTRA 30. The VIRB Elite did NOT need a waterproof case. That's why I've had more interest in the ELITE. I mean, the GoPro5 Black (Garmins main competitor) does NOT need a waterproof case.

That's a very good point. I loved not needing a waterproof housing for my Virb Elite. It is worth noting however that when filming underwater you still need the housing or the images are soft.

I'm planning to use the cam on my motorcycle (Yamaha FJR1300) so I should be safe :)

Would be great for that. Water proof for the rain and splashes. Also has the built in GPS so you can overlay your route, speed, etc on the video. Great for motor sports.

Apparently 2 hours at 1080p and 1 hour at 4k for the Ultra 30. My gut feel is that the camera achieves this. As for the Virb Elite vs the Virb Ultra 30. They appear to be very similar.

Correct. I filmed on both cameras using 1080, even though the Ultra had the option of 4k. This was to give more of a like for like comparison (as best as possible). However I personally found the Ultra to have more detail. Perhaps it's being lost due to RUclips compression?

+indee We fished predominantly with intermediates and sinking due to the wave action. That said floating lines would be great in the protected bay.
